Mulberry: Renovating the Personal Home
Intentional. Bold. Statements.
Small Updates w/ a Pop of Color
When taking on a project, we find that it is best to focus on certain parts of the house, and make those unique and/or upgraded. When this is done well, the entire home evolves. We made an enormous impact at Mulberry Mist by focusing on the Kitchen, Living Room and Owner’s Suite.
Since these areas are highly visible and the most utilized, upgrading them helped to deliver the return we were seeking.

New Floors
Changing floors has a huge impact because it makes the biggest difference over a large area. Mulberry Mist originally had painted concrete floors that did not fit the space. Although concrete floors can be a good option for certain homes, it did not work here. We wanted to uplift the space and create warmth, which we were able to accomplish with wood floors.
We also made this space feel much more luxurious with new carpet and an 8 lb pad. Most flippers and builders use a thinner pad to cut costs, so we are able to make this project really stand out from the rest, because standing on our carpet felt like standing on a cloud.

Bold Kitchen
When entering Mulberry Mist, the living room, dining, and kitchen all visible from the front door. Because of the open layout, we needed a pop of color to draw buyer’s eyes through the space and back towards the kitchen. We got that pop by painting the cabinets a deep blue. To balance this bold choice, we decided on white uppers.
After you have someone’s attention, it’s important to keep it. So, we drew the eye back with the blue cabinets, but we kept the attention in the kitchen by using a gorgeous chandelier, and incredible waterfall edge granite countertop. The resulting effect made all the difference to the buyer. They were captivated at the front door, which made all the difference.

Unique Touches
Small details make a HUGE difference. Adding framed mirrors, cabinet pulls and changing out basic light fixtures go a long way in complimenting the new space, and pulling it all together. These unique aspects provide character and give the home a story.
